The power of change

It’s times like these we learn a lot about ourselves. The past few years have been characterized by a rapidly changing world. More than ever before, new generations grow up with technology as their best friend. Meanwhile, we must respond to climate change because our planet continues to warm, which would be a negative legacy to our next generations. And, of course, we have experienced (and still do!) the health, social and economic impact of a global pandemic.

These global developments show that as human beings we are vulnerable and face some big challenges despite the previous increase of prosperity in many parts of the world. It however also shows the need for resilience, agility and determination. We can get inspiration from Albert Einstein’s quote: “The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.”

Zanders has also made continuous changes and improvements, big and small, over the past almost 27 years – and we feel stronger every day! Apart from the many young talents that we welcome, we’ve started the year 2021 with five new senior colleagues, representing over a hundred years of experience and expertise. In this issue we will introduce them to you.

As you may know, Zanders tries to anticipate continuously on upcoming regulation, trends and market developments by offering ‘future-proof’ services and solutions that support our clients to deal with their current but also future challenges in treasury, risk and finance. Innovation is the word that warms up our organization! Moreover, we prefer to develop and innovate our service offering based on ‘must-have’ client requirements and their direct feedback and input. In other words, we are focusing on interactive innovation based on collaboration and co-creation with our clients. This year, we will therefore invite you to participate in our upcoming innovative co-creation sessions organized by Zanders Innovation Lab.

In the meantime, this international edition of Zanders Magazine hopefully offers you some interesting articles to read and to inspire. Machine learning in risk management, technology considerations, project management, and savings modelling; a selection of topics that range from high-level idea generation until practical implementation. And of course, if you’d like to learn more about any subject in the treasury, risk or finance area, do not hesitate to contact us!

We hope that your start of this year has been in good health and will include some positive changes.
