Report: Webinar on behavioural deposit modelling

On September 15th, Zanders hosted a webinar on managing changing non-maturing deposit repricing in Covid-19 times for banks, jointly organized with MORS Software. Around 40 senior ALM, Risk, and Treasury officers from some 25 distinct banks around the world attended the webinar.

Using the Zanders NMD Solution application and the MORS risk management software system, it was demonstrated how banks risk a P&L hit due to changing NMD behaviour and due to risk models that are no longer reliable. Yet only 50% of the banks in the webinar indicated they have taken action to manage the impact of covid-19 on NMD behaviour. This is explained by the fact that over 60% of banks lack proper tools or have tools with limited flexibilty to perform ad-hoc NMD model redevelopment, recalibration, and stress testing analyses.
